Pineapple Bookmarks

I made these for the ladies in my Sunday School class for Mother's Day. My class has a lot of older ladies and they loved them. I even was "commissioned" to make 4 more and she is going to pay me! Yay!

Baby Set

I participated in the Survivor Challenge at CAL Pals. My part of the challenge was this baby set. I had to frog a lot, but I think it turned out cute. Model is courtesy of my daughter.

Hot....hot....HOT!!!!!

This pattern was one of Annie's Free Pattern a Day patterns. My Mom grows hot peppers, so I thought I would try it. It was easy. I also had someone ask me to make one and they bought it! Yay!

Splash the Dolpin

Here is "Splash" the Dolphin. I crocheted him for my oldest DD's friend next door for her birthday. She gave him the name "Splash". DH kept asking me if it was a whale She liked it anyway!

I am sporadically participating in the Hat-a-week CAL at Crochetville. I have gotten waylaid by some other things I needed to get done - a baby gift, prayer shawls for church. Here are a few of the ones I have finished - some modeled by my resident models.

Crazy Daisy

This is what happens when you wake up at 1:30 and can't go back to sleep - you design a bookmark! I wrote this down and now have to test it. I am considering sending it in for the Crochet Pattern a Day calendar for next year.

Lace N Bobbles Crochet a Long

I am currently making the Lace N Bobbles afghan for a Crochet-a-long at Crochetville. I am making it in Caron Super Soft Brites. I don't think I ma going to have enough yarn to finish, and I am on yarn probation, so it will be a big as it gets. Here is the pic:

Christmas is Coming

Well I have been busy and not posting! As you can see my crochet hook has been flying. At the top is a scarf I made for Katie's teacher. It was really soft and I loved it!

Next are the dishcloth angels I made for the ladies in my Sunday School class. Most of them are older and they loved them and really appreciated the hand work.

Next to that is the baby blanket I made for the girl who was my Secret Sister last year at church. She just had a little boy.

The purple poncho is one I made for Amanda and the red and black one is Katie's. I don't like the 4 point poncho as well as the 2 point, but that's just me.

I also made prayer shawls for the ladies I angel through Chemoangels and Seniorangels. I made a couple of scarves to be used as door prizes at our church Mom's group.

I am now working on something for myself. I have some lovely blue yarn with a silver lurex thread. I am working on a shrug/sweater. I also am still going to make a couple of baby doll outfits for the girls.

Nurse Lapghan

This is my first attempt at chart crocheting. It was actually pretty easy. I made this for my Secret Sister at church. Our reveal dinner is coming up, and this is my last gift to her.

Fair Winner!

Well, it's been awhile since I posted - bad me! I got my fair items back and had a blue ribbon and a white (1st and 3rd)! I also got a red (2nd) for a dress I made! I was really pleased with winning!

Ruffled Scarf Frog-a-thon

Well, I am busy trying to make a few things to enter into the Cabarrus County Fair in September. One thing was a ruffled scarf. The pattern was on the label of some lovely Caron Bliss yarn I had. So, I started working on it - but it kept getting longer and longer. It was only supposed to take 3 skeins, but it took all 8 that I had! It was long enough for Shaq to wear!

So, I frogged the darn thing which was a major pain in the backside. Then today, I went to the Caron site and found the free pattern there. The label directions said to chain 200, but the pattern on the website said chain 100. Gee, think that could have been the problem?

So, I am almost done with it now - starting with 100 chains not 200!

Working towards the fair

I have printed off the information to enter some of my crocheted items in the Cabarrus County Fair. I am excited and a little apprehensive. I am used to the Kentucky State Fair which has tons and tons of entrants. I don't remember there being a lot of entries at the CCF. I am going to try and finish my Draped Bed Jacket, make a lettuce scarf and see if DH's afghan is in good enough shape to enter. I might try to enter one of the dressed I made for the girls in the sewing category as well.

Crochetville Random Square Swap

Well, I joined another swap. We are making random 6" squares. We have to make 35 squares and send them in. We will get 34 in return. I can't wait to see what everyone makes. I hope mines aren't too boring.

Back from Church Camp

Well, I attended Mother Daughter camp with Katie. It was certainly easier to go to camp when I was 12 than now that I am 47! It was HOT and our cabin was the furthest away from everything. But, I survived and we had a good time together as Mother and Daughter.

I signed up for a random square swap at Crochetville. It is not due until October, so it should be time enough to get them done and use up some stash too!

Ack! Too Many Irons in the Fire!

I have too many things I want to make! I am working on another prayer shawl. I want to make some turbans and caps for my Chemoangel recipient. I am starting on Christmas presents - cute little fat babies in crocheted outfits for my girls, and ones dressed like angels for my Mom and Sister. I have this awesome rainbow silk yarn I want to make an airy shrug out of but can't find a pattern I like. And there are so many more.....

Nursing Shawl

Another gift for the baby shower. It is made with baby yarn and a Q size hook. I simply did SCs at each end and DCs in the middle. I wanted it to provide coverage but be cool and airy too.

Frou Frou Baby Set

I made this set for a friend's baby shower next weekend. I originally got a knitting pattern for a little sundress that was similiar, but I didn't want to make the onesie crotch, so I winged it and made this up. I am not really crazy about the mary jane booties, but maybe they'll do for a photo.

Flamingo Whimsy

Here is a picture of my whimsy corner on my front porch. It is my potted begonia with Francine Flamingo standing watch.

4th of July Flip Flops

I wanted to make some flip flops for the girls. Originally I looked for girly colors at Walmart, but they only had the right size for one of them. Knowing that making 2 different colors would make my life miserable, I went for the red, white and blue ones. I used Bernat Frenzy in Red, and Disco in Blue held together. The girls wore them all weekend and got compliments everywhere they went.

Fleuri Bag

Here is my version of the Fleuri Bag at Crochetme.com . I made mine with Lion Brand Suede Yarn in Eggplant. It only took a little over one skein and was a breeze to do! I lined it with purple polka dotted cotton from the remnant rack at Walmart. I like it, even if I did make it!
